I love lacquer art!
It is hard working to be engaged in the lacquer art creation. I stick to it since I love it.
I have been working in this field for five years after graduation and this exhibition is a small-scaled retrospection.
The language of the lacquer is mysterious and sometimes I can get the effect out of my expectation. Some people said there are more technical elements in lacquer art that is in lake of the artistic quality. I hope to tell them here the reason why they draw such conclusion is because they do not understand it. And I also hope to let them know what is lacquer art by showing my works.
Pomelos Studio sticks to creating lacquer art except the time spent on making living last year. The motifs are coming from daily life and the works are based on my nature, that’s to say to express my thoughts and impressions through lacquer art. The “China Wall” series is my creation during these two years. I hope to use my own language to talk about the feeling and the history of the wall, tangible and immaterial. Hope the works can arose your resonance.
